Meditation
Meditation is the practice of focusing your attention on one thing for a period of time that can result in a “quieter” state of mind that may reduce stress hormone levels and inflammation. Once in this state of mind, the brain may also release endorphins, or natural pain relievers, around the muscle tissue and joints, allowing you to feel less pain. This method of natural pain relief can contribute to effective pain management for certain conditions (e.g. migraines and tension headaches) especially when used alongside other methods.

Float Therapy
Flotation-REST (Restricted Environmental Stimulation Technique), commonly referred to as “float therapy” is a procedure where an individual is immersed in a shallow tank filled with water of high salt concentration, allowing individuals to float on the water. Once inside the tank, a door is closed in order to block out light and sound. It is thought that through this guided meditation process that levels of stress hormone will drop and reduce inflammation, thus allowing pain levels to decrease.

Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy refers to the medicinal or therapeutic use of essential oils absorbed through the skin or through breathing. Essential oils are derived from plants and were first used in the early 20th century to relieve various illnesses or to enhance physical and psychological well-being. Current evidence suggests that aromatherapy may be a natural pain relief remedy. In general, aromatherapy is considered a safe addition to any pain management regimen.
